ChalkFest artist, John Soukup will lead a free chalk art workshop sharing tricks and suggestions for making chalk art. All ages are welcome!

About the Artist:

Meet 2023 Galena Chalkfest Guest Artist John Soukup! John is a graduate from University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design. His works are a fusion of pop art and cartoon. Soukup’s artwork has been seen across the United States, from the Whitney Museum in New York to private collections in Alaska. He has done work for companies including Marvel, Lucas Arts and Cartoon Network.

“With any art I make, I try to use colors and subject matter that interests me every day. I’m inspired by events and relationships and coming up with ways to transition them into a working image. Often times a location where these things can live together and interact. My goal is to show harmony between people and connections we make.”
