Instructor: David Brian Erickson

This course consists of drawing from 2D source material using traditional drawing methods:

  • contour perception and construction
  • separation of lights and darks (gray scale]
  • drawing using slight-size, proportional, and constructive techniques.
Each session builds on methods and progress from the previous session. By the end of the course the student will be able to see clear progress in the ability to draw in representational manner.

October 12, 19, 26 and November 2, 9, 16, 2024, from 1:00–3:00 pm
$120 for six-week course

David Brian Erickson is an American artist. He received traditional training at the Atelier Lack School of Fine Art of Minneapolis, Minnesota in the 1980s. He has taught in private schools and art centers, designed stained glass for churches, and has commissioned work in private collections across the country. David’s work is inspired by nature, scripture, mythology, and philosophy. In August 2020, David and his wife Marcia moved to Warren, Illinois, to a beautifully converted church where they maintain their residence and studios.
