One World...One Breath

Event

The Galena Center for the Arts will become part of a global wave of events during World Tai Chi & QiGong Day.

Beginning in New Zealand, the event will spread time zone by time zone across the world at hundreds of cities in over 70 countries across six continents. This wave of free and public events is intended to bring new and long-time tai chi players together while promoting calm and wellness worldwide.

Known as moving meditation, Tai Chi and QiGong are practices that have evolved over several thousand years of research.

Galena-based instructor Amy Alderman will lead a gentle qigong and simplified tai chi form, which will be free and open to the public.

After, more local tai chi players may share what they have learned during their years of practice.

Instructor Amy Alderman is certified in teaching the Tai Chi Fundamentals Adapted program, which is designed to make tai chi accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Alderman is also a trainee of Stanwood Chang and Peter Wayne, Ph.D., in the Tree of Life Tai Chi Teacher Training program, the regimen outlined by Dr. Wayne in the Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi.
